What the 1+4 programme is: the first year is spent studying on a preparatory or language course. After that, students will receive grant support if they fulfil certain conditions – gaining the required number of points in their studies, good behaviour and high attendance.

In addition to Chinese, the preparatory course includes maths, physics, technical Chinese, business Chinese and Chinese culture. But don’t be intimidated by maths and physics – the aim is not to teach students physics and maths, but to teach students how to learn these subjects in Chinese.
